Picture post

All of our herd enjoy Hazel leaves.
Empress and Elstar: "we've got our ears up - you can Photoshop the gatepost away later".
The females resting while Scrumpy looks on.
"Do you want to know a secret?"
All that lush grass behind them - but the herd aren't keen on grazing near the hedge - they aren't keen on the rush of the wind through trees, and perhaps they feel vulnerable to ssurprise?

  1. The beasties are all looking very bonnie Dave. Hope Hazel doesn't mind her leaves getting chewed! Shirley & Robbie

  2. Dave, interesting to see your alpacas prefer the thinner grass as we find that in a similar paddock to yours, our girls also seem to keep the side farthest away, near trees and a little valley (obviously full of potential predators!) lush whilst they return to the already well-munched area! Could it also be the new shoots appearing in the shorter grass? Annoying though as we have to cut one side of this paddock with the mower!
